This Committee is concerned with all aspects of Ministry, including selection, supervision and stipends.This includes:
1. Co-ordination of Presbytery's interest in and supervision over those individuals who have offered themselves for training for the Full-time Ministry, the Auxiliary Ministry or the Office of Reader within the Presbytery. The Committee meets with such persons in order to report to Presbytery and relevant national bodies. The Committee is responsible for bringing formal nominations to Presbytery on the matter of candidature and reporting on the progress of those in training.The Committee brings forward recommendations to Presbytery for Readers to be set apart where they have successfully completed their course of study.
2. All the financial requirements of ministers, particularly stipends. Each year the stipends will be declared by the General Assembly's Ministries Council in accordance with the National Stipend Scale. Presbytery’s Committee will consider all proposed additional payments above scale before bringing them to Presbytery for approval or otherwise.
3. Vacancy Schedules. When a charge becomes vacant the Committee, along with representatives of Presbytery's Stewardship & Finance Committee, meets with the congregation to discuss the financial arrangements for the charge in terms of travel, manse, etc., and advise of the financial commitment undertaken by them on behalf of the new incumbent.
